XD Studio Lab is an independent publication. This policy explains what happens with information when you visit the site.

What Is Collected

Nothing is collected by this site directly. There is no comment system, no user accounts and no contact form that stores data. If you send an email, it is stored in an email inbox.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to understand, in aggregate, which articles are read and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and transmits your IP address and usage events to Google. IP addresses are shortened before storage where that is technically available. No attempt is made to identify individual readers.

You can opt out at any time:

  • Block analytics with any standard content blocker or browser privacy setting — the site works normally without it
  • Install Google’s own opt-out browser add-on
  • Decline or delete cookies in your browser settings

If you do not want any measurement at all, blocking googletagmanager.com is enough; nothing else on the site depends on it.

Hosting and Logs

The site is served as static files from a CDN. The host may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operational reasons. Those logs are not used to build profiles.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets cookies for measurement purposes, as described above. Embedded third-party content, such as YouTube players, may set cookies once you choose to load it. Videos are not loaded until you click them.

Email

If you subscribe to Notes from the Lab, your email address is held by the email provider used for delivery, not on this site. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.

Your Rights

You can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email hello@xdstudiolab.com and the request will be handled.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revision date at the top changes with it.
